INFORMATION

Produced in partnership with the Shugborough Hall Estate, NSCG (Newcastle Stafford Colleges Group), and the Global Data Directorate, Layers of Memory is a feature length documentary capturing the creative legacy and emotional resonance of Staffordshire mixed-media artist Julia Ellen Humphreys.

The production leverages GDD's information architecture and media pipeline to anchor the film's structured timeline, which spans from winter site-mapping through to spring post-production. GDD supported the field deployment by providing management infrastructure for the project's extensive archival assets, ensuring that video files, raw audio files, and digital scans of signature works like A Nod to Les, Take a Walk with Me, and her public mural were permanently and safely cataloged.

The GDD also provided support in arranging access to Shugborough Hall Estate, enabling the production to get access to off-limit areas such as the unfinnished 'Arcadia Gardens', and meetings with the Ranger staff to film animals close up.
